4 X FESTIVALS IN AMSTERDAM THIS WEEKEND:
Fingers crossed that it stays dry this weekend, because the festival scene has had a hard time this spring. There are various (free) festivals to visit throughout the city this weekend, from East to North!
Amsterdam Roots Festival: This festival is back in the Oosterpark on Sunday, June 23. A freely accessible and varied festival with music, theater, dance, circus and a wonderful mix of artists!
Red Light District Festival: Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June you will go to the Nieuwmarkt and surrounding area for the neighborhood party of the year. From tasting Japanese snacks at Nishi Market to giving free rein to your creativity at numerous workshops. The Red Light District will be put in the spotlight this weekend.
Karma Karma Festival: For a mini-festival you go to Amsterdam-Noord on Saturday June 22. The Karma Karma festival is organized at the renovated Noorderlicht.
Japan & Korean Food Festival: You have to go to Wormerveer for it, but I don’t want to deprive you of this event. Taste the best of Japanese and Korean cuisine, from sushi to ramen and K-pop Silent Disco on Saturday and Sunday.
THE PURE MARKET IS BACK ON SUNDAY IN THE AMSTERDAM FOREST
The cozy Pure Markt will be back in the Amsterdamse Bos on Sunday, June 23 from 11 a.m. With more than 75 artisan entrepreneurs, lots of delicious food and drinks and fun for the kids. This remains one of my favourite food markets in the city.
KANDINSKY AT H’ART MUSEUM
The new Kandinsky exhibition can be seen in the H’ART Museum from June 19. A collaboration with Center Pompidou in Paris. More than 60 works of art from the Paris collection will travel to Amsterdam especially for this exhibition. As far as I’m concerned, this is a retrospective exhibition that you must see!
CULINARY EVENTS & NEW OPENINGS NOT TO BE MISSED
Midsummer at Zachtstaal: You feel like summer has probably yet to start, but this weekend it really is Midsummer’s Night. And where better to celebrate than with a special dinner surrounded by greenery at Zachtstaal in Beverwijk. After dinner you can continue dancing in the wine garden.
Lunch at Badcuyp: Restaurant Badcuyp has only just opened and now they are already serving lunch on Sundays. Very nice, because you can choose delicious à la carte dishes or a sympathetically priced 3-course lunch menu for € 38.50.
Omakase at Chateau Karlito: Culinary pop-ups… always a surprise! The event you don’t want to miss this Sunday and which you can also attend on Monday is the Omakase by Oof Verschuren at Chateau Karlito. There are only 8 seats per day.
YOU CAN WATCH THE EC WITH FRIENDS ON FRIDAY HERE:
Naturally, we have made a list of places for all football fans where you can watch the European Championships this weekend. It promises to be a big party again at Strandzuid and Bar Bonnie, among others!
LAST WEEKEND: EARTH RESIDENTS FESTIVAL AT ARTIS
Fun to do with the kids, because the Earthlings Festival will take place in Artis until June 23. A festival that is entirely dedicated to passing on the earth to the next generation.
