The annual Formula One Dutch Grand Prix is once again set to take centre stage at the Zandvoort Circuit. This historic race brings in tens of thousands of fans to watch the greatest motorsport on the planet unfold. It goes without saying that many are coming to cheer on the Dutch three-time world champion, Max Verstappen, in his pursuit of another World Driver’s Championship with Redbull Racing.
The Dutch Grand Prix is set to take place from August 23rd to August 25th. On the first day, the cars have free practice sessions where they can get a feel for the track. On the penultimate day there is qualifying where all of the drivers attempt to set the fastest time to determine the order of the starting grid for the race. The race itself then takes place on the final day, however, one can choose to only attend the race if they so wish.
The trip to Zandvoort can take as little as 30 minutes with a direct train from Amsterdam Central Station, but keep in mind that the train will likely be crowded during the race weekend. From the hotel, you can easily get to Central Station via the metro from Waterlooplein, as it is only a 5-minute walk to that station. Public transport tickets can be purchased online at www.GVB.nl or in-person, and train tickets can also be purchased online at www.NS.nl or at Amsterdam Central Station.
Besides the race, there are plenty of other enjoyable activities to partake in when you visit Zandvoort. The city is well known for its beaches where many flock to every summer, and water sports are also very popular. Take an opportunity to relax on the beach and soak in the sun (hopefully)!
Make sure you book your race tickets soon as they sell out quickly, and do not forget to immerse yourself in the sound and action of the world’s most captivating motorsport!
